Oh blimey, that doesn’t look good. A working pilot boat had a bad case of the overheats, we suspect it may well have been caused by a plastic bag inhibiting the water inlet.
Unfortunately, plastic is now the scourge of the ocean and I fear we will see more such cases if we haven’t already, unbeknownst.
Ross began by removing the remnants of the water pump impeller from the Yanmar 4LH and then he stripped down the cooler to ensure no stray pieces had gone AWOL.
He also checked the engine, water and exhaust systems before replacing the cremated parts.
