Simon suspected the drive bearing was the prime noise making culprit.
This proved to be the case, as it was clear that water ingress via the bellows had caused the partial seizure of the bearing. Water dripping out like a faulty toilet cistern was a bit of a giveaway.
All the guilty parts were replaced and a service completed the job.
