*French Marine Motors now distribute Integrel - Advanced Generator Replacement Technology.

We are delighted to announce an exciting distribution partnership between French Marine Motors and Triskel Marine.

Baba Vanga wasn’t half bad at predicting the future, I’m no soothsayer but that doesn’t matter a jot, because the future of power generation onboard is here.

French Marine Motors were so blown away by the overall winner of the prestigious DAME Design Award (among others), that we felt compelled to find out more.

The awe-inspiring generator replacement system named ‘Integrel’ by the folks at Triskel Marine, has an innovative, environmentally conscious, forward-thinking ethos and is beyond doubt a total game-changer.

Traditionally, a generator needs to be run for all sorts of onboard activities, whether you're charging your house banks, using electric-powered deck equipment or even your everyday house appliances... The dull drum of a generator has always been part and parcel of modern cruising... until now.

While we were all wasting fuel, deciding what to unplug and what to leave on charge and putting up with irksome generator noise, a bunch of tech-savvy generator gurus at Triskel Marine down in Cornwall, hatched a cunning plan.

Integrel - Advanced Generator Replacement Technology

How can this possibly even be a thing? I hear you ask? Let’s take a look at their website and ask them to explain Integrel in their words.

“Your existing inboard engine has a significant amount of spare capacity most of the time. Integrel uses this spare capacity to generate electrical energy either for immediate consumption or to charge the battery banks. As that spare capacity increases and decreases with engine revs, Integrel adjusts its power generation accordingly.

Effectively, the Integrel generator is like an alternator on steroids. Permanent magnets embedded in the rotor improve the internal magnetic coupling, delivering exceptionally high power and efficiency.

But such high power needs to be handled carefully. Our system controller is programmed with information about the propeller and engine, plus the main elements of the boat’s electrical system. This allows the controller to calculate in real-time exactly how much additional load can be added to bring the engine to its most efficient point at any given engine speed.

Propulsion is always prioritised and the electrical power is ramped up slowly to avoid any shock loading on the engine”
