Meet The French Marine Motors Family

Now that our wanderers have returned safely from the Southampton boat show, we can begin our new feature entitled, “Meet the FMM Family” My first unwitting victim is Richard.

Richard Davey;
Spare parts administrator at French Marine Motors Brightlingsea branch.

How long have you worked at FMM Richard?.....
I’ve lost count! Since I left college which is about 16 years.

What does your job entail on a daily basis?.....
I deal with customer orders in person, on the telephone and via our website. I also prepare orders for the post, order in new stock and answer questions and queries from customers.

What do you like best about your job?.....
When we get big orders in and I get to send engine parts all around the world. Lots of bubble wrap.

Where is the furthest place you’ve sent a part to?.....
New Caledonia which is a group of tiny islands about a thousand miles off the Coast of New Zealand, they had to be delivered by boat.

Do you have a favourite engine part or is that a strange question?.....
Cylinder heads, engine blocks, anything shiny.

What do you do when you’re not being a spare parts ninja?.....
I play electric and acoustic guitar, I’ve got 18. I really enjoy going to gigs.
