I’m not the only one already starting to feel slightly frazzled by the festive season.
Engineer Simon in Brightlingsea was called to attend to a B.M.C 1.8 engine installed in a Colvic Seaworker, which had unfortunately suffered a complete engine overheat.
This turned out to be due to the water pump failure which then caused the cover plate to overheat forming a bow on its surface, thus inflicting the damage.
A new cover plate and gasket were subsequently fitted and the vessel was free to continue stoically into the new year, just like me.
